I’m about to Sleigh 🎅

Someone call Santa 🎅!  Cuz I’m about to SLEIGH this HIIT Workout!

HIIT stands for High-Intensity Interval Training. The workouts alternate between high intensity and low-intensity exercise. There are lots of ways to do HIIT so please feel free to utilize other HIIT workouts if you already have some favorites! Here we’ll lay out two different HIIT workouts for you to choose from if you need some guidance. If you have the time and energy, finish with 30 minutes of feel-good cardio, Yoga, or an Ab workout!

Option 1: 15 Minute HIIT on Cardio Equipment

Perform 15 Minutes of HIIT on Your Favorite Piece of Cardio Equipment (Run, Stairs, Cycle, Row, Elliptical, Jump Rope, etc.)

Start with a light warm-up and when you feel warmed up (5-10 Minutes or so) begin your HIIT Session.

——

20 Seconds – ALL OUT-MAXIMUM EFFORT

20 Seconds – Medium Effort

20 Seconds – Recovery (Rest)

Repeat 15x

——

If you’re using a Heart Rate (HR) monitor, this means you should try to get your heart rate to 70 to 90 percent max heart rate during your maximum efforts, and during your rest periods you should be able to bring down your heart rate to 60 to 65 percent max heart rate.

If you don’t have an HR monitor, you can still easily check your HR.

To check your pulse at your wrist, place two fingers between the bone and the tendon over your radial artery — which is located on the thumb side of your wrist. When you feel your pulse, count the number of beats in 15 seconds. Multiply this number by four to calculate your beats per minute.

Check out this chart to see where you should be aiming for.

Option 2: I’m about to Sleigh – Body Weight Cardio HIIT Circuit

After a light 5-minute warm-up, complete your first for 30 seconds with ALL OUT MAXIMAL EFFORT. Rest for 30 seconds and move into the next exercise in the circuit. Repeat this pattern for the remainder of the exercises and complete the circuit 3 times.
