Here’s a recipe for high protein chocolate donuts that is completely drool-worthy! 🤤

  • 1 Scoop Whey or Vegan Chocolate Protein Powder
  • 2 Egg Whites
  • 1/2 Cup Pureed Pumpkin
  • 1 Tbsp. Maple Syrup
  • 1 Tbsp. Unsweetened Apple Sauce
  • 1 Tsp. Baking Powder
  • 3 Tbsp. Unsweetened Cocoa Powder

Glaze

  • 1/4 Cup Chocolate Chips (Milk or Dark Chocolate – Your Choice!)
  • 1/2 Tbsp. Coconut Oil

Toppings

  • Sprinkles or Coconut Flakes* Optional

Other Possible Additional Toppings: Cream Cheese Mixed with Chocolate Syrup

Chocolate Protein Donuts with Sprinkles

^Dark Chocolate Glaze

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350F. Lightly grease a donut tin with some canola oil. Then, in a medium-sized bowl whisk together the dry ingredients. In a second medium-sized bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients. Next, mix together your wet and dry ingredients. Pour batter into a pastry bag, or into a ziplock bag and cut off one tip off the corner of the bag. Slowly fill in each cup of the tin evenly with the batter. Bake for 15 minutes. Cool on a wire rack for about 5 minutes. As your donuts cool, melt chocolate chips and coconut oil in a double boiler over low heat (I use a small glass bowl nested in a pot), stirring often, until glossy and smooth. Remove from heat and allow to cool for 10 minutes. Dip each cooled donut into the glaze, allowing excess to drip off and then sprinkle on your sprinkles or coconut flakes. Allow to set for at least 30 minutes.
